Riad
SOUAFINE is a famous patrician
residence built at the end of
the 19th century.
Erected
by Cadi Moulay Ahmed Alaoui
whose wife Kenza was the
daughter of Moulay Hassan 1st,
sultan who governed Morocco from
1873 to 1894, Riad SOUAFINE was
given to Cadi Boukili who then
gave it to Cadi Abdelaziz
Skalli.
He then made major renovations
before selling it to the
Benkirane family, important
manufacturer of Khlih, (beef or
camel meat, dried then
crystallized, a speciality of
Fez).
Riad SOUAFINE is a Guesthouse,
located in the medina, on the
hill of ZIAT, the district of
the palaces; it is situated in
an exceptional place with an
unforgettable view that
overlooks the heart of the
medina.
